water and wine? or wine and water?

well folks, many of us might have snuck into a jaccuzi after a glass of wine. thats not that bad. one needs to have a very very very ( as many times as u want it) bad day to drown in it. ( ever heard of a man drwoning to death inside his own jaccuzi?

but a lake or a pool is a completely different matter. or even a creek for that matter.
if you really have to jump into one of these and later haunt them, well this just shows your i-don't-care-attitude towards all. why rob the others of the simpler joys of life?
why bring them the loss of a friend, when it could have been another friend to talk to?

much said, hope wine and water doesn't try mixing again!

of treats and going dutch

when a party can be nicknamed treat, for convenience's sake, why then can a get together not be nicknamed dutch eh?

the resoning goes as such. but a small voice quips up.. just because we tend to normalise things to our plane of perception do we really need to nickname things for even as nonsensical as parties and get togethers or cook outs??

why not instead apply those creative ideas into something worthwhile like energy conservation.. after all energy conserved is energy generated!!

ravings of an emotionally depressed bastard.

there i go again. it seems the world is in peril. one way or another. there is  no escape. the economy is in shambles. the politics have taken an ugly turn, where it earlier was win win, now it has become the arena of dacoits and thugs who bray for their opponents blood in any way possible. it was ever meant to be thus. this affliction of betrayal and greed has corroded away the sweeter and softer emotions and the simple humane nature of man  has been replaced with something very frightening and diabolical.

be it his concern towards the environs, or for the other living creatures inhabiting this planet, or even it be towards his fellow man himself, he has failed miserably. the revival of the so called "basic" instincts in man has degenerated our society, into nothing more than a hive of thieving people every one intent on cheating the next out of something.

but as every thing in nature shows us, we do have exceptions. we do have people among the common men in our society who do indulge in charity. charity that comes from within, and not for profit will go a long way in showing people a path to redeem their faith in the humanity's exceptional belief in itself. the belief to peaceful coexistence. the belief to survival of all species irrespective of their mental capacities as we deem them. the belief in fate itself..

this belief i share and i accept it is flawed in some places. but as i said above i am not in my right minds. but one day with our tenacity for proving things wrong, perhaps out of the ashes will rise a firebrand and mould humanity into one single lifeforce and teach it to live a life of peaceful co-existence with the other worldly creatures who caught our fascination  a long time ago and if truth be told.. they still do.

sleeping till midday!

night is for sleeping .. this is what we have been brought up with.. and we have evolved based on this underlying fact. but what if somone was to actually dare and cross this frontier?? whatever would hapen if we were to sleep at 4 in thoe morning and wake up at 12 in the noon?? would we change visibly??

this change is inherent to many of the students who are going to be called engineers in the near future. and we are proud to have challenged and proved wrong this dogma of our earlier generation. but we have not the foresight of the cost of the energy we are laying to waste in our blind challenge..

when the world today is battling for a change in the way energy is consumed and the amount of energy guzzled we are in fact adding in to the burden rather than help in reducing it.. far removed from our aim of helping find new ways to reduce what we are unconciously increasing!

diwali buzzes

its diwali time folks! and lanterns and lamps are ablaze. lights and flashlights abound.. people are happy.. but in this hysteria and euphoria icannot help but be sympathetic to all the nonsense that prevails.

a rocket for god's sakes ahould fly skyward and not vice versa!! and a flower pot should not be placed head down... nor should there be rain!!! but i guess although the first two are correctible the last one is out of our hands.

but none the less.. we should  be delightful that we do have a season in which we can happily celebrate this festival of lights!

of all things nonsensical

i was travelling to delhi. the flight had not yet left the tarmac, when a gasp reached me. it came from the seat squarely behind me. i looked around at the source of astonishment. it seemed to be the watch. then in a flurry of activity out came his mobile and there was a frantic typing of numbers and a swift call. it seemed he was late.. and had only realised it moments ago. an airhostess hurried to him seeing his harried palate and the sweat beads lining his brow. she had the misfortune of coming under his barrage of spitfire. a hasty retreat was the only available option..i regretted taking that seat for he kept on babbling on and kept raving on the phone about his next flight.. the detials lost in the ensuing chaos.. but i dare not empathise with the poor lady who was sitting next to him..she seemed so calm when we deplaned. almost ready to deflate the person in front of her..
